    We are expanding our development team and would like to extend a warm welcome to Amelie Ludwig as our newest team member. With a strong academic background and experience in software development, she brings valuable skills to the company.

    Whilst studying for her Bachelor’s and subsequent Master’s degrees in Computer Science at the University of Passau, she also gained practical experience. Her work focused on innovative technologies and the development of forward-looking software solutions.

    he combination of academic expertise and practical project experience makes Amelie Ludwig an ideal addition to the Vision ID team.

  • Mehr Funktionen, mehr Effizienz: StigmaTag v4.

    More features, greater efficiency: StigmaTag v4.

    A new major version of StigmaTag is now available. Version 4.04 includes a number of improvements and enhancements.

    In addition, there is an update to the visiCAP image capture programme, bringing it to version 3.02. The latest version now supports, amongst other things, the new Canon EOS 2000D and EOS 4000D SLR cameras. There are also improvements to the integration of standard webcams.

    As StigmaTag customer with active Updates & Support subscription, you already received an email containing details of all the changes and the download link for the new software version.

  • Vision ID auf der OSS Works

    Vision ID @ OSS Works

    The OSS Works event aims to make the OSS standard accessible to a broad audience. To that end, a trade fair will be held this fall at the Brugg-Windisch campus of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.

    The goal of the event is to bring end users and manufacturers together. The trade show will be open to interested industry professionals on October 26 and 27, 2016.

    Vision ID will be participating in the event and will personalize visitor badges. A photo of the visitor will be taken using a live camera and printed on the badge along with the visitor’s personal information. In addition, the badge will be electronically encoded using the OSS standard, making it ready for further use. The encoding process is integrated into the printing process and takes place directly in the card printer.

  • Common Smartcard wählt neuen Vorsitzenden

    Common Smartcard elects new chairman

    The Common Smartcard Solutions Association reorganized at its annual general meeting on March 20, 2015. The new chairman is Ulrich Ludwig from Vision ID Engineering.

    Ulrich Ludwig has been a member of the Executive Board since the organisation was founded in 2011 and has chaired the Technical Committee ever since. The following were elected as further members of the Executive Board: Micros Fidelio Deutschland, Martin Witschi, Hug-Witschi and Dirk Schwindling, TCPOS.

    The association’s former chairman, Walter Neuhaus, Kontroll Systeme, who had managed the company’s affairs since its foundation, was unanimously elected as an honorary member. Walter Neuhaus led Common Smartcard from 2011 to 2014.

    Common Smartcard Solutions Association defines standardised card structures for contactless smartcards based on different technologies in the area of e-payment (closed systems). The association has been established in April 2011 in munich after an intensive preparatory phase. It supports the dissemination of standardised card structures with various marketing activities, such as informative events, articles in professional trade magazines and joint presence at trade fairs.

    Vision ID is founding member and supports the association in creating the technical specifications, organization and markting activities. Of course all our products support the card structures defined by the association.

    Vision ID @ SicherheitsExpo 2014

    The SicherheitsExpo Munich is the trade fair for safety and security in the business sector and will take place on 2 and 3 July 2014 in Munich.

    Around 120 exhibitors will be showcasing their cutting-edge products and services in the fields of building security, fire safety, communications security and data protection at the trade fair. The SicherheitsExpo will take place over two days, from Wednesday 2 July to Thursday 3 July 2014, in Munich. The venue is the MOC Munich, Hall 4.

    Vision ID will also be there, showcasing its current product range. You can find us at the stand of the Common Smartcard Solutions Association: Stand F 24

  • TagDiver-Middleware v3 now available.

    A new major release of our TagDiver middleware, version V3.0, is now available. With the release of this version, LED indicators, text displays and buzzers integrated into the card reader are now also supported via special commands.

    The TagDiver middleware V3.0 has been enhanced to include the following features, amongst others:

    • Added options for checksum handling
    • Support of card reader built-in LED lamps, text displays or buzzer
    • Added many new reader models
    • Support for LEGIC SM4500 chip
    • Possibility for auto logging of openCashfile card structure (Common Smartcard)
    • Command to retrieve supported reader models

    Common Smartcard wins Innovations-Preis IT 2014

    The Common Smartcard Solutions Association has been winning the innovation price "Innovationspreis-IT 2014 der Initiative Mittelstand" in the category AutoID/RFID.

    The award-winning solution openCashfile on smartcards convinced the 100-member jury of specialists and thus belongs to the top group of over 5,000 applications submitted.

    Bei RFID-basierten Kartenprojekten, wie zum Beispiel der Einführung des kontaktlosen Bezahlens in der Kantine, findet der Auftraggeber in der Regel unübersichtliche proprietäre Strukturen vor. Diese resultieren daraus, dass in der Vergangenheit keine systemübergreifenden Kartenstrukturen mit der notwendigen breiten Funktionsunterstützung vorhanden waren und somit die Systemanbieter ihre eigenen Strukturen definiert haben. In der Folge sind die Unternehmen dadurch meist auf einen Anbieter festgelegt, was Interoperabilität und Produkt- oder Anbieterwechsel erschwert. Die standardisierte Kartendatenstruktur openCashfile sorgt dagegen für Transparenz. Durch die Aushändigung der Zugriffsschlüssel kann der Auftraggeber auch Systemkomponenten von verschiedenen Anbietern beziehen. Zudem können bestehende Kartenlösungen weiterverwendet werden, da die openCashfile-Datenstruktur einfach zusätzlich auf die vorhandenen Karten aufgebracht werden kann. Somit eignet sich die openCashfile-Kartenstruktur auch für Multiapplikations-Anwendungen.Hard- und Software sind dabei zueinander kompatibel und sicher. Der offene Chipkartenstandard kommt in den verschiedensten Bereichen, wie zum Beispiel der Gastronomie, dem Bezahlwesen, der Zeiterfassung und Zutrittskontrolle, zum Einsatz.

    Modern card production at German Federal Ministry of Defense

    StigmaTag to take over card printing and encoding.

    Currently the passport and ID office of the German Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) produces new hybrid access / time and attendance badges for all employees of the locations Bonn and Berlin. After months of intensive planning and consultation, the existing ID card personalization software could now be replaced by the new identity management system StigmaTag of Vision ID Engineering GmbH.
